2022 OP Gala
About the project
Opportunity Partners hosts an annual fundraising Gala to help raise money to continue to provide services for people with disabilities. This event hosts around 400 people, including donors, staff, persons served, and families. The warehouse at the main campus is completely cleared out and turned into a beautiful venue space for the social hour, a seated dinner, and program. This Gala was also OP’s first big event held in-person after COVID-19 lockdowns had lifted.
I provided all print and digital design assets for this Gala. This Gala was in May 2022, and I started conceptualizing the colors and design in September of 2021. I like to make every design stand out on it’s own, while keeping an overall cohesive look.
Print assets included sponsorship brochures, save the dates, invitations, envelopes, invitation inserts, foam board signs, and silent auction category and item description signs.
Digital assets included social media graphics, email headers and graphics, presentation slides during the live program, lower thirds for live stream, and a transformation video.
For the transformation video, I set up a camera to take a photo at two-minute intervals and let it shoot for about eight hours. I then weeded out the unflattering photos and pulled the rest into Premiere Pro. I set each image to a duration of just a few frames, added a fade transition between every photo and violà — the entire transformation of the warehouse in to an event space in less than a minute.
I also crocheted a Gala-inspired blanket to donate to the silent auction!
